Dear Friend,

With the approach of Pesach 5770, we undoubtly concern ourselves with supplying matzos, chicken fish, eggs, potatoes, etc. for our families. But, we must not forget our” extended family”. We were all – the entire Klal Yisroel – liberated from the bondage of Mitzrayim over 3, 500 years ago. Yet, at this moment more that a million of our fellow Jews in Eretz Yisroel are not completely free, because they are enslaved by poverty.

This tragedy has been aggravated due to the recent budget cuts of the Israeli government. For Example, public assistance to poor and large families has been cut by 65 percent or more. Transportation to religious schools has been cut off pitting new responsibilities on families who already could not make ends meet. And the list goes on and on. Regular everyday needs are difficult to meet, how much more so before Pesach.

They struggle over how to get that loaf of bread for the next day or consoling a spouse over the inability to support the family.

We can not stand idly by. We must act and liberate them from their dreadful plight.

Prominent askanim in the United States are already helping them. The Organization Simchas Yom Tov is providing hundreds of families width basic Yom Tov needs. We appeal to you to join us in helping these needy and deserving people, in full confidence that your funds will be distributed wisely and honestly, and without overhead.

YOUR MONEY WILL GO DIRECTLY TO HELP THE POOR AND HUNGRY.

Please think of the countless men, women and children who don’t know where tomorrow’s food will come from.

Contribute as generously as you can. IN the zechus of your ahaves Yisroel may all Jews everywhere be blessed with peace, safety and security. And may we all be blessed with a Chag Kosher V’sameach with good health, happiness, and redemption.
